The Arab Economic Database (AEDB) was launched in December 2014. It contains time series for six economic sectors. The database provides statistical data on GDP by expenditure and economic sectors items, direction and structure of foreign trade, balance of payments according to the fifth edition, monetary and banking sector, statistics of government finance and in addition to a chapter on cross-section exchange rates. All the economic data are collected through a questionnaire, distributed to the Arab countries, related to the joint Arab Economic Report. In the case of lack of statistical data from the national agency then the use of international institutions are the secondary sources.
