The Arab Monetary Fund aims to onboard an "Economist" in the Capacity Development and Innovation Department, reporting to the Training and Capacity Building Institute Director.
Job Purpose
The Economist is responsible for supporting the Training and Capacity Building Institute (TCBI) by conducting training courses, workshops, economic research and analysis. This role supports the AMF’s mission to enhance economic stability of its member countries through training and development initiatives.
Key Accountability Areas and Activities
The key activities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of methodologies for assessing training needs across member countries, in line with the Institute’s strategic objectives.
- Engage with stakeholders in coordination with the director of the Institute, including member country representatives and internal departments, to gather information and insights on training requirements.
- Conduct gap analysis to identify capacity building needs and prioritize training areas based on analysis results.
- Design and develop programs that address identified training needs, ensuring content relevance and effectiveness.
- Tailor training programs to meet the specific needs of member countries and align with participants' roles and responsibilities.
- Implement quality assurance processes to maintain high standards in training content and delivery.
- Deliver/coordinate the delivery of training programs through various formats, including workshops, seminars, online courses, and blended learning.
- Ensure that training methods are interactive and engaging, promoting active learning and knowledge retention.
- Coordinate with relevant internal (e.g. departments/divisions) within the Fund that typically get involved in the training courses especially in the areas that are related to the organization of training programs including the preparation of the training venues, the arrangements of hotels and visas for the training attendees, and the organization of the press coverage etc., so that attendees are fully satisfied with the quality of the training programs and arrangements
- Contribute to the research activities of the AMF, including studies and publications relevant to policy priorities in member countries.
- Develop training-related publications and materials to disseminate knowledge and best practices.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in economic analysis or finance, preferably in an international financial institution, research organization, ministries of finance, or central banks
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, economics, or investment management or a related field
- Master’s degree in economics or finance or a related field
- Excellent communication and writing skills in Arabic and English. French, as a third language, is a solid advantage
